5.ladle-is a large ,round,deep spoon with a long handle,use for serving
stew or soup.
6.cockpit-in a aeroplane or racing car,the cockpit is the part where the
pilot or driver sits.
7.departure-is the act of going away from somewhere.
8.pleading-expression or gesture show of someone that you want
something very much.
9.concoction-is something that has been made out of several thin
mixed together.
10.rafter-are the sloping pieces of wood that support a roof.
11.shelf-is that pieces wood,metal or glass which to attached to a wall
or to the sides of cupboard.
12-dust-is very small dry particles earth or sand.
13.cobwebs-is the net which a spider makes for catching insects.
14.roost-is a place where birds or bats rest of sleep.
15.snuggled-if you snuggle somewhere you settle your self into a warm
,comfortable position,by moving closer to another person.
16.husky-if someone boy's is husky, it is low and rather rough often
in an attractive way.
17.pestles-is a short rod with a thick round end,it used for crushing
thing such as herbs,spices, or grain in a bowl called a mortar.
II.Essence of the story
Big sister is a short story about growing up and why people
change.
III.Setting
A.Place
to vigan-in the kitchen-in the front yard-across the bar earthen
front yard-in the street-over the low bamboo barrier at the
gate- front window-in school-in the house-outside the gate-
under the acacia tree across the dirt road-on the buttress root
of the tree of the bus-by the width of the palm-to the market-
from school- at the door-on the floor.

V.Characterization
1.Inciang is the sister of itong that very supportive for itong study
and she was the big sister.
2.Itong is the brother of inciang that grown up in vigan and
studying in primary school in vigan.
3.Tia orin is the aunt of inciang and itong that help in study.
4.Nena is the daugther of lacay iban and friend of itong.
5.Lacay iban is the father of nena.
6.Mr.cablana is the supervising principal teacher in vigan.
7.Father is the man did not marraige again.
8.Tata cilim is the uncle of itong and inciang,and help itong to stay
his house.
9.Pedro is the conductor of the bus and cousin of itong.
10.Merto is the coousin of itong and also studying in primary
school in vigan.
VI.Plot
The eighteen years old big sister,incaing helps the twelve year old
brother prepare his stuff for the travel to vigan.In the process,inciang
mother has passed away giving birth to the brother of inciang so
she acts as the mother to itong.The father never married again and
spend his time tilling land and help in the everyday sustenance
of the family.Itong needs to go to school and being a valedictorian
graduated to the barrio elementary school,there is a need for him to
pursue not only his dream but more so of the dream of the family
members for him become a doctor or a lawyer.Inciang feels in soon
being apart from her brother for the first time.The rest of their family
and more of inciang display suppport,love,cocern care for itong.He left
she first time and the neighbourhood tend up to the bus station.Inciang
is in so much emotional pain seeing his brother leave for vigan but she
displayed firm attitude as everyone bids the boy good bye.A year has
passed and and itong returns the barrio.He displays eagerness to see his
old friends and inciang notices everything.Few more years and itong
has grown teller and bigger.Simultaneiusly he has changed in a way
that he is no longer very tactile to his sister.Inciang change is indeed
enevitable.The family needs to livelife dispite the changes and nena
to the scene,someone whom she feels could be her sister.
VII.Point of view

VIII.Theme
The changes is enevitable and time passes even if we try to stop
it.
